Origins Modern Friction, 4oz/125mL

Source: Origins

Recently, I started to pay more attention to the organic skincare because of the formulation without parabens. After doing some research, I have my eyes on Origins skincare.

Here is the first product review from Origins skincare line.

How to use: Two to three times a week, scoop onto fingertips and massage over dry, clean skin in circular motions. For sensitive skin, massage over damp skin. Add a splash of water and work into a gentle lather. Rinse well. Follow with appropriate tonic.

I found that it's a very good exfoliator. After use, my skin becomes so smooth, radiant and soft!! The sales representative showed me a tip: Leave the scrub over the skin for few minutes before massaging over the skin would provide better results. PLEASE remember that DO NOT LET THE SCRUB LEAVE ON THE SKIN FOR TOO LONG. I found that this formulation is quite concentrated. I can feel the burning sensation after leaving the scrub on skin for few minutes. For sensitive skin, I recommend that you massage over damp skin without leaving on the skin. The results are outstanding.

Modern Friction™ claims to deliver all the amazing age-erasing benefits of dermabrasion such as:

* Improving texture and reducing fine lines
Comment: I don't have fine lines on my face, so I can't comment on the impact on the fine line. The texture of the skin is definitely improved in terms of radiant, smoothness

* Minimizing signs of photo-damage
(seems to brighten up my skin and fades the freckles)

* Evening out skin tone
(yes, even the skin tone)

* Restoring your skin with a youthful glow

(yes, brightens up the skin) I found that the first use of Modern Friction already provides better results than the Shiseido brightening cleanser, toner and emulsion that I used previously.)

Moisturizing mask (or very moisturizing cream)to be used afterward is highly recommended because this scrub tends to dry out the skin a bit.

Smashbox Anti-shine

I was recommended Smashbox Anti-shine by a sales representative at Shoppers when I was looking for something that could control the oil on my nose area. My skin is combination, I should say pretty dry all over my face except my nose. Therefore, it was quite hard for me to find a foundation that would not create patches due to dryness in a few hours, and not too oily for my nose area.

Smashbox anti-shine is my current FAVOURITE for oil-control.
It comes in a 1 Fl. oz@30 mL. $31 CAN dollars + tax

Ingredients:
Water, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, isobutylparaben, Fragrance. May contain Titanium dioxide, iron oxide.
So many parabens, not recommended for people who are sensitive to parabens.

Only little amount would cover my nose area. The texture of this gel is quite thick, but the gel is totally absorbed to the skin after dabbing evening on the specific area without leaving any residue.
How to use: I use it after the makeup base, and before the mineral powder. Then, my whole face is ok for the whole day. If you have very oily skin, then, you might want to touch up with anti-shine after blotting your face, and then powder.

The pictures were not that good, because the lighting is too dark.

San Francisco Trip

Just came back from San Francisco 9-day trip yesterday.

This is the third time I visited San Francisco but seems to me the first time I get to know about the city. I love the weather in San Francisco, the temperature is around 20 Celsius degree and always with the breeze. The evening could get bit chilly down to 12 Celsius degree. The resident for our stay is pretty neat, with two bedrooms, one futon bed and one sofa bed, fireplace, opened concept kitchen, one bathroom and large living room. Utensils, cooking pots and pans, plates and bowls are in place in kitchen. We mostly stay in for breakfast to save some money from spending eating out. The bathroom comes with face towels, big towels, soaps,a pile of toilet paper. I love the concept of staying in a private house rather than in a hotel. We got a place to gather around to watch movies, chat and cook. Our place for six people is $1400 U.S. for 9-day stay.

We went to a lot of places. We visited de young Museum, Golden Gate bridge, Fishermen's Wharf, downtown, Wax Museum, China town, Napa Valley Wineries, two outlet malls around Napa Valley, Sausalito, Alcatraz Island, Jazz festival and Fire works on President's day. Unfortunately, Muir Woods and Yosemite Park are dropped out from our itenary.

When I just came back from the trip, I saw a package from imomoko.com I ordered just a week before my trip. The package includes Naris Up Eggshell & Charcoal Mask, Kanebo COFRET Shine Accent eyeshadow 01 SP09, L'EGERE white Multi Blemish Balm BB cream and Kelvin Beautymaker Aqua Eye Concealer (#3 Medium) and two of each DHC deep Cleansing oil and DHC Salicylic Acne Toner samples. I am so excited to try them soon.
